Nominees sought for lifelong learning awards

The UW is seeking nominations for the second annual Faculty Award for Distinguished Contribution to Lifelong Learning. The awards recognize faculty whose work at the UW furthers the cause of continuing education. Each winner will receive a certificate and $1,000.

Faculty members can be nominated by other faculty, staff, or administrators, though only full-time UW faculty members are eligible. Nominations should include the name and academic affiliation of the nominee, a list of their continuing education activity and evidence of their outstanding contributions to lifelong learning.

Other requirements:

  • Nominees must have been engaged in lifelong learning activities sponsored by the UW for at least two years.
  • They must have received excellent teaching evaluations.
  • Their efforts should have benefited program participants, the community and the UW.
  • The nominees also must have been engaged in innovative, non-degree programs aimed at adults for professional development, personal interest, or career redirection.

A committee of UW faculty and UW continuing education administrators will review the nominations.

Please send nomination materials by April 15 to Dave Szatmary, Vice Provost for Educational Outreach, at Box 354224.
