Mulally to speak on the future of Boeing Commercial Airplanes

Alan Mulally, president and chief executive officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, will speak about the plans and prospects for the company’s commercial airplane business during an address at the University of Washington Business School.

He will talk at 8 a.m. Wednesday in room 200 in the Husky Union Building. A continental breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m.

Mulally, who oversees all of Boeing’s commercial airplane programs, which posted sales of more than $35 billion 2001, will discuss the many challenges the company faces in remaining world’s leading commercial aircraft manufacturer.

Mulally began his Boeing career in 1969 and now is the company’s senior executive in the Pacific Northwest.

His talk is one in a series of lectures hosted by UW Business School Dean Yash Gupta. Upcoming speakers are:

Each talk is open at no charge to the news media. Public admission is $12 per person.
