Health Sciences/UW Medical Center hold tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. Lois Price Spratlen, below, professor of nursing and UW Ombudsman, was the keynote speaker for the Health Sciences/UW Medical Center Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute on Jan. 17. Her title, “Gifts from a King,” highlighted one theme for the program.

In addition, community service awards were presented to students and faculty members from health sciences schools and UWMC. The Distinguished Service Award was given to Dr. Peter Domoto, professor and chair of pediatric dentistry at the UW, for his work to improve access to dental care for children throughout the state.
