Big day in Bothell

A dedication is planned Saturday for two new buildings on the Cascadia Community College, UW, Bothell campus.

The public event begins at 1 p.m. and will include tours of the new Media Center and University Book Store, as well as UWB2 – a newly constructed building that provides space for lecture halls, traditional classrooms, labs and faculty offices.

During the past academic year – the campus’s first – the Media Center was providing students from both institutions with access to digital cameras, editing equipment and VCRs. But by moving into the new facility the campus will have room to more than quadruple the amount of technology available. For example, students will now have access to media and graphics production, a darkroom, audio recording and more.

Also on display will be an iBook Wireless Mobile Lab, which was recently purchased for the campus Education Program.
