Physical therapists schedule events

UW physical therapists from Hall Health Primary Care Center, the Exercise Training Center at UWMC-Roosevelt, the Sports Medicine Clinic, and the UW Medical Center Physical Therapy Department have planned events to mark Physical Therapy Month in October.


Learn about the PT profession and the curriculum at the UW at the following free events:


Tuesday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., second floor of the HUB, across from the information booth. Participate in flexibility screenings to improve your conditioning program. Learn correct ergonomics (positions) when sitting at your computer.


Tuesday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., UWMC-Roosevelt main lobby. Have a postural assessment, receive body mechanics information, or body composition testing. Learn about computer workstation information and positioning, as well as an introduction to the PT profession.


Tuesday, Oct. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., UWMC Rehabilitation Therapy Department, 8-East. There will be body composition screenings with exercise information on how to increase lean muscle mass. Also, learn about common overuse injuries and prevention programs.
