Higher Education Day in East King/South Snohomish counties: Oct. 7

Presidents and executive officers of universities and colleges serving the east King and south Snohomish counties will meet in a public forum with state legislative candidates from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 in the auditorium at Lake Washington Technical College. The event is part of the state-wide Higher Education Day declared by Gov. Mike Lowry. Similar forums will be held on other college campuses throughout the state on this same day.
The forum will be a discussion among candidates in the region. Larry Hanson, publisher of The Herald, will moderate. The audience and members of the media will be able to ask questions of forum participants.

Presidents and executive officers from the University of Washington, Cascadia Community College, Bellevue Community College, Everett Community College, Shoreline Community College and Lake Washington Technical College will discuss their thoughts and concerns about higher education in the state.

Higher Education Day was established by Gov. Lowry as a day for public and private institutions of higher education around the state to cooperate in putting together candidate/legislative forums in the districts and communities they share.
