Setting Out of Office notices
The method you use to set your Out-of-Office (OOO) or vacation message will depend on whether you are using the UW Technology Exchange server or not.
If you have not moved to Exchange
You will use the Email Delivery Manager, as you have in the past. This is located at:
https://mailsrvc-h.u.washington.edu/edm/filter.cgi/
If you have moved to Exchange:
There are known problems with using Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 to set your out-of-office or vacation message. Clients using the UW Technology Exchange server must use the Outlook Web Access client to set their OOO message.
- Log into https://exchange.washington.edu/owa with your UW NetID credentials
- Click on "Options"
- Select "Out of Office Assistant"
- Select "Send Out of Office auto-replies"
- Select if you want to send OOO messages to both Internal (UW Technology Exchange clients) and External (all others, including Deskmail) senders.
- Do not set a specific time period as it does not work well. You will need to turn it off when you get back to the office.
If you have questions or problems, please contact Nebula Support at nebula@u.washington.edu, or call 206-221-5000. Thank you.
