Auto-insert: Type short site name, IE does the rest

Type the short name of a site in the Address box (e.g. "yahoo") and hit Ctrl-Enter. IE will fill in the full path (www.yahoo.com) and take you to the site. This tip only works with .com sites.

Display: everything's so small!

Use View -> Text Size to select a large display font.

Footers: Won't print footers

The footer prints very low on the document, and some older printers can't print text that low. Try printing to a higher- level printer, at least the equivalent of an HP4.

File Clean-up: how do I clean up my Internet files?

Use Options -> Internet Tools -> Delete Files, and make sure the Delete Offline Content box is checked.

Home Page: how do I change my home page?

Go to the desired home page (if it's UW, it's at http://www.washington.edu/uwin).
Click the Use Current button, to change your home page, and click OK.
Close Internet Explorer and re-open it to see if the changes took. You may have to repeat these steps one more time, but it should change your home page back.
