Student Representatives MEDEX students play a very important and active role in student government. Our students begin the process early in the didactic year by running for class offices. Students involved at both the state and national level. Students represent MEDEX at Washington Association of Physician Assistants (WAPA), Alaska Academy of Physician Assistants (AKAPA) and the Student Academy of the American Association of Physician Assistants (SAAPA). The student officers from all four sites work together as a team and provide leadership at their respective sites Elected representatives for MEDEX in 2009-2010 were voted into office by their peers. Grace Landel, M.Ed, PA-C, Senior Faculty and Director of Diversity at MEDEX, is very involved in the education, mentoring and, growth of MEDEX student government at the national and local level. MEDEX class officers are provided group training and meet together to discuss leadership and community services projects. Students will be coordinating fundraising opportunities this year including the sale of apparel and gift baskets to support student functions as well as community services projects.
