On Friday, June 3, 2011, Dr. Vanoy Smith from Sedro Woolley, WA. was honored at his retirement party with a Award of Excellence from MEDEX for his outstanding performance as a clinical preceptor for over 50 PA students over the past 35 years.

The award was presented by Tom Jones , Director of Clinical Education Administration for MEDEX Northwest and read in part, “Your mentoring and instruction has enriched the learning experiences for over 50 of our students and launched their careers as healthcare providers. Your legacy will live on in your students and shall continue in the care of patients for many, many years to come.”  Dr. Smith was currently precepting our student Brian Alexander and held Brian up as an example of the “high-quality young men and women students he got to work with”.
