2009 MCHS Class Statistics
MEDEX Northwest had a total of 322 candidates submit applications for the 2009 Master of Clinical Health Services Class. Of the candidates who applied 15% had applied to MEDEX previously. Out of the 322 applications received a total of 90 MCHS candidates (28%) were invited to interview.
A total of 48 (53.25%) in Seattle and Spokane combined are currently enrolled. The MCHS entering class of 2009 is widely diverse in terms of regional and cultural background as well as education and health care experience. This diversity becomes a benefit to both the students and the faculty providing a unique opportunity to learn from one another

| The number of female students selected as compared to male students selected is consistant with the numbers in the MCHS applicant pool. Female applicants to the MCHS degree options out number male applicants by nearly 2 to 1. |

While age 30 was the average age of the applicants, the mean age of MCHS students accepted was 31.5. |

New applicants in the 2008/2009 application cycle totaled 85% making the total number of re-applicants to 15%. The total number of re-applicants accepted makes up 29% of the 2009 MCHS accepted class. |

The majority of the MCHS class accepted in 2009 was from the WWAMI region and Nevada totaling 66%. Students selected from outside the WWAMI region typically have ties to the reqion through military service, family in the area or, were originally from this region. |

Because MEDEX does not require a specific undergraduate degree major MCHS students have prior bachelors in everything from Chemistry, Biology and, Health Science to English, Business and, Art History. |

Military members continue to be represented in the MEDEX applicant pool and did apply to the Masters degree option in 2009. We value this historical part of the MEDEX applicant pool and will continue to actively recruit, mentor and, train current and former military members.
