MEDEX Extended Master Of Clinical Health Services: Prerequisites

EMCHS Degree Prerequisites

A cohort of 30 students will be admitted in 2010. Applicants are being accepted now for a acceptance for June 2010. Applicants to the Extended Master of Clinical Health Services must meet the following qualifications to be considered:

  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited US institution (or equivalent foreign institution),
  • Grade point average of 3.0 for the most recent two years of full-time equivalent coursework (90 quarter or 60 semester credits)
  • Current NCCPA certification
    • An easy method to provide this documentation is to visit the NCCPA web site and request that verification be provided.
      1. Go to: https://www.nccpa.net/pa/credentialpublic.aspx
      2. Enter your name and state or your SSN to search for your status.
      3. The page showing your certification status has options for you to request that mail or email verification be sent to a third party. Enter the information for the application office at UWEO, hit 'submit' and you're done!
  • International applicants must take the TOEFL to demonstrate English proficiency.

Applicants must meet the MEDEX Extended Master’s prerequisites and meet UW Graduate School Admissions requirements listed above to proceed to the next stage of the admissions process. Admission decisions will be made on a rolling basis. Students should apply as early as possible to the EMCHS. Students are admitted to the program until the 2010 program cohort is full. Students may continue to apply until May 29, 2010, and successful applications will be placed on a waitlist for either the current or subsequent year’s program if the current year’s program has reached capacity.

International Applicants:
An international student is defined as any person who is not a US citizen and does not hold a US Permanent Resident Visa. The definition of an international student also includes those who hold US visas, such as an F-1 visa, exchange visitors, and other non-immigrant classifications.

It is recommended that international applicants submit the application and transcripts to the Office of Graduate Admissions as soon as possible for consideration for 2010-2011 program. International applicants must submit additional required materials to the Graduate School to be considered for future admissions.
