Yakima/Toppenish, Washington

chinook pass, wa

Yakima and Toppenish are surrounded by orchards and wineries, desert-like scenery in the middle of summer, covered by blankets of snow in the winter, and has somewhat normal conditions through out the rest of the year, however much drier than the west (Seattle) side of the Cascades.

If you like wine, you will love the Yakima Valley! It has many vineyards with tours, tasting rooms, and chalets. There are also many fruit stands, and some carry the local wines as well as wonderful fruits and vegetables. There are many sites to see and explore in the valley, art, scenery and nature's wonders, and if you want to run along the river right behind the hotel, you can find some pleasing views as you run.

Toppenish is known for its old town feel with old-fashioned street lamps and 69 hand painted wall murals depicting the history of the town. It is a town rich with history and culture. It has 300 days of sunshine a year, an added bonus to any trip.
