Promotion timeline

Clinical Faculty Promotions occur once each academic year.

September – October:

Each site and regional office gets a list of their clinical faculty within the site or region, respectively, to review and recommend clinical faculty for promotion.

October – December:

Recommendations are reviewed to ensure each faculty member has meet the criteria for promotion to the next rank.

Proposed clinical faculty begin to assemble their promotion packet. Promotion packets require:

• Current UW formatted CV
• Letter of recommendation from your site director
• An additional letter is required only if you are proposed to Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor. Letter must be from a local colleague or regional office.

When the above items are complete:

Send the packet to the WWAMI Program Office.

The WWAMI Program Office will:

Attach a letter of recommendation from the WWAMI Program Director.
Forward your packet to the promotions committee for review and vote.

January:

The Promotions Committee will:

Review, approve or deny promotions.
Approved applications are then moved forward the University of Washington for approval and recording.

July 1:

Faculty will be notified about their promotion by e-mail and a letter of will be sent to the address on record. Effective dates are based on the academic year.
