Christopher M. Traudt

Acting Assistant Professor
Neonatology

Dr. Traudt's research interest is focused on the effects of brain injury on the development of the cerebellum. Preterm infants are known to have difficulties later in life which have been tied to actions that are performed by the cerebellum. Dr. Traudt's goals are to understand the cause of cerebellar injury and propose strategies to prevent and/or treat brain injury. Dr. Traudt’s clinical interests are focused on appropriate pain management and the application of family centered care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU can be very intimidating to parents; he believes that care of the infant is incomplete without parental guidance throughout the NICU stay.
