Microsoft Software - Office use (for Purchase)

The Department of Pediatrics IS Group provides Microsoft licenses to Department of Pediatrics members using the UW Microsoft Campus Agreement. This provides most Microsoft software (Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, etc.) to department members for work use. Microsoft Software - Home use (for Purchase)

If you are a member of the Department of Pediatrics and would like to purchase Microsoft software for your personal use, you may do so at discounted rates using the "Home Use Program" (HUP). With this program, you may purchase Microsoft products with personal funds for personal use at a discounted rate (e.g. $9.95 + tax for Office Enterprise). Microsoft will send you a CD with the software, which is considered your personal (non-UW) property. Additional details may be found here: https://www.washington.edu/uware/microsoft/faq.html

To use this benefit:

  1. Contact pedcomp@uw.edu for the "program code". This is the password used to verify that you are covered under our Department of Pediatrics agreement.
  2. Sign up here: http://www.microsofthup.com/hupus/home.aspx
  3. Microsoft will mail you a CD/DVD for the product, and this product is considered your personal possession, not University property.

Sophos Anti-Virus Software (Available as Free Download)

Sophos Endpoint Security and Control is the UW's new centrally licensed anti-virus/anti-malware software product.

Cisco IPSEC VPN (Available to UW Medicine employees as Free Download)

The Cisco VPN is the old VPN solution provided by ITServices used to connect to UW resources from off site.  The VPN supports WindowsXP, MacOSX, and Linux, but does NOT support 64 bit OS, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.

Seattle Children's Gemalto Network Key

Gemalto Network Key is the new remote access system in use at Seattle Children's Hospital.
