Curt Bennett, MD, was named President-Elect to the Western Society for Pediatric Research for 2007. He will become President in 2008.
Greg Redding, MD, was elected President of the American Lung Association of the Northwest (Washington, Idaho, and Alaska).
Dr. Sing Sing Way was awarded the Basil O'Conner award from the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. The grant is for $150,000 and runs from 2/1/07 to 1/31/09 and will examine the role of Toll-like receptors in regulating the function of Regulatory T cells in adults and neonates after infection.
Tony Woodward, MD, MBA, has been named to a new UW Medicine faculty advisory committee on recruitment and retention of faculty in clinical departments.
Karen Murray, MD has been certified as a Pediatric Transplant Hepatologist.
Sherilyn Smith, MD will be giving a platform presentation at the research presentations, a workshop on scholarship of teaching and was also elected to the executive committee at COMSEP.
Dr. William Osborne has been named as a member of the Musculoskeletal Tissue Engineering Study Section, Center for Scientific Review for the term beginning July 1, 2007 and ending June 30, 2010.
