Thursday, October 6, 2005 - Mark your calendars for the Faculty vs. Housestaff softball game. The game is scheduled for 6 pm, Thursday, October 6th, at Lower Woodland Softball Field #6 (located between the 2 soccer fields at Lower Woodland Playfield). There will be a BBQ to follow.

September 1, 2005- December 1, 2005 8:00 p.m. EST: Starting Thursday, September 1, 2005, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will begin accepting applications for its five Loan Repayment Programs (LRPs). Fall Faculty MeetingOctober 17, 5:30 PM Sound Caf: Fall Faculty Meeting. Dean Ramsey will be visiting with faculty and answering questions about the UW School of Medicine. Faculty NewsJohn Neff, MD, has been selected to serve a two-year term on the Council on University Relations.
Curt Bennett, MD, has been elected as a trustee of the Washington Chapter of the AAP.
Carol Miao, PhD, was recently awarded a new R01 NIH grant: $1,000,000 for 4 years. Title: "Modulation of immune responses for hemophilia following replacement therapy."
Tamara Pozos, MD, PhD, Senior Fellow, was honored recently as the recipient of the Department of Immunology's AMGEN Outstanding Postdoctoral Poster Award for her poster entitled, "Innate Immunity to Tuberculosis: Using Embryonic Zebrafish to Model Early Responses to Mycobacteria." This poster competition is held annually at the Department of Immunology Fall Retreat.
