September 27-October 1, 2004: Intern Retreat Week. Information has been sent out from the Housestaff office about this year's Intern Retreat. Each year, it has become increasingly more difficult to find coverage for our interns. I encourage faculty, fellows and clinical faculty to support this important event and help provide the needed coverage. For further information, contact Sarah Archibald (archie@u.washington.edu).

GRANT AWARDS
Congratulations to Dr Hans Ochs who just received a 5-year competitive renewal of his RO1 merit award.
Dr Hans Ochs has been invited to give the "David A. Talmage Lecture" at the Aspen Allergy Conference in recognition of "Your monumental contribution to the Understanding of Immunology and Molecular Biology."
The 5th edition of the "Stiehm Book": Immunology Diseases in infants and Children? has been published. Dr Hans Ochs is the co-editor and author of 3 chapters. Dr. David Rawlings and Dr. Troy Torgerson each authored a section of the book and Dr. Laura Beitz wrote the Rheumatology chapter.
