Training Future Pediatric and Physician Leaders

The Pediatrics Graduate Medical Education (GME) program is designed to train skillful physicians with ingrained habits of life-long learning and well-formed ethical and professional modes of practice, consistent with UW School of Medicine's Commitment to Graduate Medical Education.

Participants will work at the Department of Pediatrics major affiliated hospitals, including the University of Washington Medical Center (consistently ranked in the top ten hospitals in U.S. News & World Report), Seattle Children's Hospital (ranked in the top ten children's hospitals by U.S. News & World Report), and Harborview Medical Center, our region's only level 1 trauma center.

• The UW School of Medicine sponsors over 200 medical student positions.
• The Department of Pediatrics sponsors over 90 resident positions, focused on meeting the needs of the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) region.
• The Department of Pediatrics and its major affiliated hospitals sponsor over 60 fellowship positions.
