Education

The University of Washington Department of Radiation Oncology offers comprehensive training programs and opportunities for physician residents, medical physics residents, medical students, and fellows. The goal of all of our programs is to train the future leaders in the field of radiation oncology.

Research

The academic faculty in the Department of Radiation Oncology are innovative researchers and scientists in the field of cancer care, bringing our patients cutting edge treatment options and technology. Our clinician faculty conduct research, run clinical trials, and write scholarly publications.

Patient Care

Our world-class team of Radiation Oncology providers has extensive expertise in treating a wide range of cancers — from more common diagnoses to the extremely rare — using the most comprehensive range of radiation technologies available in the world.

Ramesh Rengan, MD, PhD, FASTRO

Dr. Rengan became Department Chair in April 2020.

Dr. Rengan is the Peter Wootton Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at UW Medicine, Senior Vice President of the Division of Radiation Oncology and Faculty of the Immunotherapy Integrated Research Center at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center
