Libraries site redesign

Get a sneak peek at the new responsive Libraries site, set to launch before Fall Quarter. Christine Tawatao will discuss the user research and testing results, plus share their current usability and design experience.

Online learning

Every day the UW Web has many visitors from around the globe. Ever wonder if our websites are world-friendly? Matt McGarrity from the UW Department of Communication will share some of the challenges and opportunities he’s facing with his online public speaking course, which has more than 100,000 students worldwide. He’ll also touch on his experience staking out his MOOC position in the discipline (which he said is generally hostile) and the press (which he calls unrealistically hopeful). MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course. The class he’s currently teaching, Introduction to Public Speaking, is offered through Coursera.
