We’re starting a pilot project here on the Web Team; a weekly drop-in office hour on campus. Beginning this week, at least one “content” person and one “technical” person from the Web Team will be on campus to answer your Web-related questions between noon and 1 PM every Friday.

AccessComputing and Computer Science & Engineering are sponsoring a public lecture by Google’s Ken Harrenstien titled “YouTube Captions: Making the World’s Videos Universally Accessible.” Ken’s lecture will cover “Automatic Captions,” which uses Google’s speech recognition technology and attempts to automatically generate captions for every video uploaded to YouTube.
Stuck on our image galleries? Don’t know what the heck “pagelet” means or how to use a “blogroll shortcode”? It’s okay, sometimes even we get confused. The Web Team has created unique widgets and customized our WordPress sites above and beyond, so we’re hosting this class to demystify some of our inventions.
Our first ever Web Team class will be Tuesday, April 2nd and is titled “WordPress 101.” Priority for this class is given to current or future users of our hosted WordPress install. Read more for class details and to register.
