PLEASE NOTE: Online Software Access has been superseded by ViDA. Some of this information may be out of date.

To save a file on a Mac follow these steps:

  1. With the application open that you want to save from, click File and select Save As. The "Save File" dialog box will open.
  2. The default folder is a network documents folder. Do not save your file here. If you save your work here, it will be automatically deleted when you log off.
  3. Select "Computer." A warning will display - "A program requires access to one of your folders." Click Allow to give access.
  4. Double-click on your local hard drive.
  5. Browse to the preferred folder, then click Save.
Unless you have the software installed on your computer, the saved file icon will appear to be unassociated with any application. To open or print the file, you must re-log on to OSA and open the file within the application. To create a file that can be printed without being logged on, save the document as a PDF by following the steps below.

Save as PDF

  1. Click File and select Save As, then select Adobe PDF.
  2. Click Save.
  3. If Adobe PDF is not an option under Save As, you can create a PDF by using the print command. Click File and select Print. A print dialog box will open.
  4. Click the down arrow under "Printer Name" and select Adobe PDF. Click OK. A PDF will be created from the open document that you can then save, share or print a hard copy from.
