Catalyst Portfolio Tool Featured in Syllabus Magazine

The Catalyst Portfolio Tool was released in September 2002. Over 3,000 freshman enrolled in freshman interest groups used Portfolio to create and publish an online portfolio during Autumn quarter, with guidance and feedback from their instructors.

The Portfolio tool allows instructors and advisors to create projects that guide participants through the process of collecting and reflecting on digital "artifacts" that illustrate their skills and accomplishments. Using only a Web browser, participants can collect, annotate, and arrange a variety of digital artifacts, and then display them online. Students can also use the Portfolio tool to compile a personal collection of digital files that reflect their course work or personal interests. Portfolios can be published to the Web with the click of a button.
