About Collaboration
WebQ allows you to work collaboratively on surveys or quizzes with your UW colleagues. You can add groups (created under "Your Groups" tab on your account page) and assign each group a role on your survey or quiz. Your collaborators can then log in to their own Catalyst tools account and go to WebQ to work with your survey or quiz.
Collaborators only have access to the areas of your survey or quiz according to their role (see table below). You can assign a group of collaborators one or more of the following roles:
| Role | Permission |
| Reviewer | This role allows others the ability to review the content and relevant
settings for a survey or quiz. Reviewers can view question content, preview the survey, view the text of announcements and reminders, availability dates, security settings and list of participants (if any), view survey appearance settings, and view contact information. |
| Editor | This role allows others to build the survey or quiz content and set up
the experience of taking the survey. Editors can add, edit, move, and delete questions; add and remove page breaks; edit points; and change survey appearance settings, participant experience settings, and contact information. |
| Grader/Analyst |
This role gives others access to the results of a survey or quiz. |
| Code table viewer | This role gives others access to view the code translation table. The code translation table correlates identifying information about the participant (such as UW NetID, email address, or custom ID) with the ID number WebQ assigns to a participant's responses. |
| Settings manager | This role allows others to administer the survey by setting who can access
the survey, when it is available, and sending announcements and reminders. Settings managers can change security settings, availability dates, participant experience settings, and contact information, and create and send email announcements and reminders. |
| Administrator | This role allows others nearly complete control over a survey or quiz.
Administrators can take any action on a survey or quiz except renaming it, deleting it, adding collaborators, or viewing the code translation table. |
