Digital Video Overview

Help Center Digital Video Overview
This curriculum provides a basic overview of the pre-production, production and post-production phases of a digital video project as well as information about digital video as a medium. During pre-production a filmmaker plans out the project in preparation for recording. Production follows, when the filmmaker uses hardware such as cameras, sound recorders, and lights to capture media for the project. Afterward, the filmmaker edits the video during post-production in basic video editing software such as Windows Movie Maker or iMovie, or advanced software like Final Cut Pro and Premiere. This curriculum was written for people who want to learn the basics of creating a digital video from both a conceptual and technical standpoint.
