Record sound output for Tegrity (Mac OS X)
Your computer is capable of producing sound (MP3s, DVDs, audio Powerpoint presentations, etc.) as well as playing sound from external sources as audio streamed from the Internet. Capturing these sounds can be difficult and may result in low-quality audio.
Soundflower allows you to capture audio that adds depth to your Tegrity presentations. Soundflower extends your system to let you route audio from one application to another. For example, you can take the audio playing from a movie in your Internet browser and channel it into a Tegrity recording. While Soundflower can be used in a range of situations, this article focuses on using it with Tegrity.
- Watch the video below for instructions on how to install Cycling '74's Soundflower Audio Routing Utility.
- Log in to Tegrity and launch the Tegrity Recorder. The Tegrity Recorder settings will appear.
- Select your desired recording settings. Set the microphone to Soundflower (2ch). The two-channel setting is sufficient for most recording situations.
- Click Record a Class. Audio that plays through your speakers will now be recorded directly instead of through a microphone. For example, a previously recorded PowerPoint with audio can now be played and captured in Tegrity.
