Fix Poor Video or Audio Output
If your recordings repeatedly result in distorted sound or video here are some tips for better results:
Keep your laptop plugged in to a power source when recording. Some laptops restrict computer processing to reduce power consumption if left on battery power.
This can lead to distorted video or sound.
Close all programs not needed for the recording. This reduces activity on your computer and reserves more computer processing for recording. This is especially important on older computers.
Check the microphone level before you begin recording. If the sound level is jumping into the red as you speak, make adjustments to the microphone recording volume (see "C" below) to get the level to the green, peaking near the center. If you are using an external microphone, check the wireless unit for a sensitivity switch that may be set too high.
