Use Faronics Deep Freeze
This article provides details about how to set up Deep Freeze, Data Igloo, and Tegrity in such a way that Tegrity settings and recordings will persist through Deep Freeze refreshes.
Important Requirements
- The workstation must have a dedicated disk drive (logical or physical), which is used as a Tegrity persistent storage for keeping class recordings and Tegrity Data. This disk can be created using Faronics Workstation Installer from available free space on the existing drive (explained later).
- Deep Freeze must be used together with the Faronics Data Igloo mapping tool.
Overview of steps for setting up a recording workstation with Tegrity using Faronics Deep Freeze Enterprise
- Create a workstation configuration with a free disk drive, which will keep all the Tegrity recordings. We recommend that you allocate about 50GB of free space to this drive. In this example, we designate this drive “T:”.
- Create an exception rule for “Frozen Drives” with Deep Freeze. The frozen drives are specified on the “Configuration” – “Drives” tab of the Deep Freeze Configuration Administrator.
- When you finish configuring the workstation, you create the “Workstation Install Program.” This option is on the File menu.
- Now you can deploy Deep Freeze to the workstation.
