Information about the May 20, 2009 GradeBook Update
This page explains an optional change that grade book owners with Spring 2009 classes attached can make to the grade book in order to fully benefit from the enhancements this quarter. This one-time change, necessary only for this quarter's grade books, results from the pace and timing of the collaborative effort amongst OIM, the Registrar, and LST to improve the online grade submission experience.
The May 20, 2009 release includes:
- improvements to the online grade submission process for independent study classes (class lists now only show specific students you are supervising), and
- access to the online FGR for administrators (such as TAs or departmental staff) to assign grades.
As a result of this release, the existing class attached to the grade book is now listed at the bottom of the "Classes" tab under the heading "Other classes."
To experience the enhancements for your grade book, you will need to edit the grade book and re-select the spring quarter class list. This is an optional change; you can continue to use the grade book as-is and submit grades online during the grading period (5/26 - 6/15).
If you wish to make the change, please follow these steps:
- From the GradeBook home page click the name of the grade book that you want to edit. You will move to the main view of the grade book.
- Click Manage in the global navigation in the upper right.
- Under the heading "Students," click Edit.
- Re-select the spring quarter classes or sections from the list of the classes you are teaching displayed on the "Classes" tab. You can also de-select the previously class or section, which is now listed at the bottom of the classes tab under the heading "Other classes."
- Click Save.
