The Catalyst Web Tools login process begins with a "where are you from" (WAYF) page. People who have a UW NetID can log in with a UW NetID. People who do not have a UW NetID can log in using a Google Account or a ProtectNetwork ID. If you have a UW NetID, it is recommended that you use that to log in. You can create tools only with your UW NetID, not with a Google Account ID or ProtectNetwork ID. 

Log in with your UW NetID

To log in to your Catalyst Web Tools account using a UW NetID, follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to the LST Web site at http://uw.edu/lst.
  2. Click Web Tools Login at the top of the page. You will move to the "Catalyst Tools Login" page (see image at right).
  3. Select I have a UW NetID and click Next. You will move to the UW NetID Weblogin page (shown in step 4).
    Before clicking Next on the Catalyst Tools Login page, you have the option to select "Remember my choice on this computer" to bypass this page on future visits. If you later want to return to this page to select a different identity provider, remove the cookies from your Web browser.
  4. ProtectNetwork Weblogin Click thumbnail to view full image.
    On the UW NetID Weblogin page, enter your UW NetID and password. Click Log in. You will move to your Catalyst Web Tools account page.

Log in with your Google Account ID


You can log in to your Catalyst Web Tools account using your Google Account ID. Note that the Google account is different from the account that some individuals use for accessing UW Google Apps. A Google account ID is username@gmail.com; the UW Google Apps account is username@uw.edu.

To log in with Gmail, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the LST Web site at http://uw.edu/lst.
  2. Click Web Tools Login at the top of the page. You will move to the "Catalyst Tools Login" page (see first image above).
  3. Select I DO NOT have a UW NetID and click Next. 
  4. On the next screen, select Google. You will move to the Google Account page (shown in step 5).
  5. Enter your Google Account ID and password, then click Sign in.

    Note: If you are already logged in to your Gmail account, you will see a Google Accounts screen with the following message: "catalyst.uw.edu is asking for some information from your Google Account username@gmail.com." Click Allow.

  6. On the Catalyst Tools account page, click Save.


Log in with your ProtectNetwork ID

To log in to your Catalyst Web Tools account using a ProtectNetwork ID, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the LST Web site at http://uw.edu/lst.
  2. Click Web Tools Login at the top of the page. You will move to the "Catalyst Tools Login" page (see image at top).
  3. Select I DO NOT have a UW NetID and click Next.
  4. Select ProtectNetwork and click Next. You will move to the ProtectNetwork Weblogin page (shown in step 5).
    Before clicking Next on the Catalyst Tools Login page, you have the option to select "Remember my choice on this computer" to bypass this page on future visits. If you later want to return to this page to select a different identity provider, remove the cookies from your Web browser.
  5. ProtectNetwork Weblogin Click thumbnail to view full image.
    On the ProtectNetwork Weblogin page, enter your ProtectNetwork ID and password, then click Login. You will move to your Catalyst tools account page.
