X-Win32 Software

Overview

X-Win32 is X Windows emulation software for MS Windows systems.

It includes the LIVE Server component that lets you attach to the Linux desktop directly across ssh and you can attach to your entire Linux (or Solaris) desktop.

Version Available — 2012 (latest) and previous version

System Requirements — Windows XP (SP2), Vista, 2003, 2008 and 7

License Details

  • UW Medicine IT Services provides this license for the UW under a site license agreement with Starnet (www.startnet.com).
            NOTE: Large departments may contact IT Services to participate in the cost-sharing of the license.
  • There is no charge to end users for the software.
  • UWMITS administers this site license.
