Set Up A Conference Call Yourself For Up To Six Participants

Anyone using the campus Avaya telephone system can make a three way conference call no matter what type of telephone instrument is being used. Depending on the type of telephone set, more parties may be added. To request information about using your telephone for three party conference calls, please contact the UW Technology Service Center at help@u.washington.edu or call 206-221-5000.

For More Than Three Participants
Conference calls with more than three participants may require some special instructions. To schedule a conference call with more than three participants or to obtain information about doing so, please dial 206-685-6060. Reservations for conference calls may be made between the hours of 8 a.m and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

On Demand - Up to 30

Meet-Me Conferencing

UW Technology provides access to the Meet-Me conferencing capabilities. Meet-me Conferencing provides a reservation-less, meet-me audio conferencing bridge with capability for up to 30 participants. This system allows organizations to hold conference calls on-demand, without paying per-use fees for simple reservation-less conference calls.

Advantages include:

  1. Easy to use, low-cost conferencing solution for up to 30 parties.
  2. Best solution for day-to-day, impromptu conferencing needs.
  3. No per minute/per user charge for conference.

Rates

One-time Setup Fee $4.00
Monthly Recurring Charge

$2.00 per month for campus dial tone subscribers

$25 per month for non-campus dial tone subscribers

Toll-free Access $0.06 per minute/per participant

Applicable toll free and long distance charges will apply.

On Demand - Over 30 and Special Applications

Premiere Global Services

Premiere Global Services (An Adobe Service Partner) is the preferred UW provider for large audio on-demand conferences, international conferences, and special events. 

Option 1

Premiere ReadyConference Plus (On Demand, Up to 125 Participants)

$0.035/min/participant
Premiere ReadyConference Plus is an on-demand audio conference with capability up to 125 participants. This service is available for $0.035/min/participant including Toll Free access from the US or Canada.
Option 2

Premiere ReadyConference GlobalMeet (International On Demand, Up to 125 Participants)

Varies by country, $0.04/min/participant from US/Canada
Premiere ReadyConference GlobalMeet is also an on-demand audio conference similar to ReadyConferece Plus, but it has the added capability of International Toll-Free Dial-in access. The per minute rate for this service depends on which country the participant is calling from. The rate is $0.04/min/participant for participants in the US and Canada.

Option 3

PremiereCall Connection (Operator-Assisted Dial-Out including International)

$0.11/min/participant Toll Dial In
$0.13/min/participant Toll-Free Dial In
$0.11/min/participant + International Long Distance Rates for Operator Dial Out.
Premiere also provides operator assisted dial-out services through their PremiereCall Connnection offering. In this service, the Premiere conference operator will dial out to your VIP or international participants. This service is available for a rate of $0.15/min/participant.

Option 4

PremiereCall Event (Over 125 Participants, Operator-assisted Conference Planning)

$0.15/min/participant
PremiereCall Event is a full service, white glove operator-assisted event conferencing service with operator screening/greeting for participants and moderators.  A dedicated team, including an Event Manager will assist with scheduling and planning your conference.

Scheduled One-Time Event

Meeting Exchange

Meeting Exchange is a potent means for effective One-Time conferencing, with a one-time charge, and no recurring charges.  Reservations are required for this service.

Rates

Audio Conferencing $ 0.025 per minute/per participant
Toll-free Access $ 0.06 per minute/per participant (in addition to the $0.025)

Applicable toll-free and long distance charges will apply.

Equipment and Hardware Requirements

Speakerphones and other teleconferencing equipment are available from the UW Technology Service Center for either temporary or permanent installation on campus.

Rental audio conference units are available from the UW Technology Service Center for $40 per day.

To purchase a conference unit, we recommend contacting Shawn Fernandez with Solutionz Inc.

The "Regular SoundStation Analog Polycom" or the "Soundstation2 Avaya 2490 for Definity" are are two models of Polycom conference phones that can be purchased.

 

Web Conferencing (Adobe Connect)

Adobe Connect

What is it?
A Flash-based virtual meeting room that allows you to connect with multiple participants to share audio, video, applications, and chat.  

What do you need?
A computer (Mac/PC) that has at least Adobe Flash 8 installed. 
A phone to call into the audio conference or a microphone and speakers for VoIP.
A webcam (if you want to share your video).

How much does it cost?
$330 prorated to the end of the fiscal year.  Basically $27.50 per month with a commitment until July 1st.  For instance, if you purchase in November, you pay $220 for unlimited use until July 1st, 2010.  Customers can purchase a Meeting Host license through Customer Services using their UW Budget Number.
