Catalyst Tools can be created and managed with shared accounts (also called supplemental accounts) as well as your personal UW NetID account. Shared accounts are useful for managing and organizing course or project tools and files. On your Catalyst Tools account page, you can select other accounts from a menu, and work with the tools in that account without logging out or closing your browser. Best of all, your groups and class lists will be available for you to use as you work in the shared account.
Tip: Instructors can create a group from a class list in a shared account, and it will be available to TAs or other assistants also working in the shared account.
You must be an administrator of the shared account for it to be available to you through your Catalyst account page. Administrators can be added to shared accounts through the Manage UW NetID Resources page.
To switch accounts, follow these steps:
- On the Catalyst Tools account page, click Your Name(yourNetID) in the upper right corner. A menu will open.
- Select the shared account you want to work with from the menu. You will move to the account page for the selected account. Note: The account you are currently working in will be displayed in the upper right corner as Your name (yourNetID) acting as sharedNetID.
- When finished, click Your Name(yourNetID) in the upper-right corner and select your personal account or another shared account from the menu.
