Enter Scores

You can enter scores into a grade book in several ways: import grades into GradeBook from a file on your computer or into an assignment from WebQ; alternatively, you can enter them manually into the grade sheet or into an students' individual information pages.

Begin with the step below:

  2. From the GradeBook home page, under Grade books you own or Grade books in which you collaborate, click the name of the grade book with which you want to work. You will move to the grade book home page.

    Tip: Students must be added to the grade book before you can import or enter their scores into a grade book.

Note: GradeBook will only import scores from a correctly formatted file containing the necessary student information and column headers. We recommend exporting a grade book to Excel, adding scores or assignments, and then importing the updated file. You cannot add new students to a grade book through import.

Enter Scores into the Grade Sheet

  2. At the grade sheet, make sure all the students in your class or section have been added to the grade book. Learn more about adding students to the grade book.
  3. Add assignments to the grade book to which you will add scores. Learn more about adding assignments to the grade book.
  4. Click on the cell you would like to add a score to, corresponding to the student identifiers in the rows and the assignment information in the columns, and type in the score.
  5. Scores are automatically saved.

  4. Find a student's information page. Learn more about finding a student's information page.
  5. On a student's information page, assignments will display on the left, and the student's score on the right. Type a score for the student's assignment in the field provided. Scores are automatically saved.
