Background

Devon has been a personal trainer since February 2000.  While pursuing a Master’s degree at Southern Illinois University, he interned in a cardiac rehabilitation unit at St. Mary’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  He has also worked as a Fitness Assistant at a hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation team.

Devon has experience working with clients of different ages and levels of fitness, including elderly and high risk populations.  He believes all health and fitness is rooted in a proper foundation of core strength and muscular flexibility, as these traits affect other areas of fitness such as cardiovascular conditioning and muscular strength.

He enjoys running, music, history and travel in his spare time.

Background

Jason has been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor since 2006.  He is a Seattle native with a diverse athletic background that has influenced and shaped the way he trains clients.  Although he grew up playing traditional sports like football, baseball, basketball and track, he also dabbled in power lifting, parkour, yoga and rock climbing.  He enjoys functional training, doing multi-joint exercises that require you to use your core.  A typical workout of his will include a variety of equipment:  the TRX Suspension Trainer, kettle bells, free weights, even body weight exercises.  He has worked with OSU’s student athletes, metabolic clients at PRO Sports Club and people who just want to lose weight and improve their fitness.

Jason’s biggest claim to fame:  In 2002, he competed in the WABDL’s world championship for the deadlift—and won!  Since 2005 he shifted his focus to rock climbing, snowboarding and yoga.  When he’s not training, you can find him up in the mountains rock climbing.

Background

Juli believes her success is measured by her client’s and takes a holistic approach to working with people, believing that fitness, nutrition and attitude must support the goal.  She has worked with numerous clients in a variety of personal training and physical therapy settings.  She likes to develop challenging and fun programs that help you reach your goals but also improve your understanding of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Juli is a former collegiate athlete who played indoor volleyball.  Her current focus is competing in beach volleyball and coaching track at a local high school.  With her background in athletics, she enjoys sport-specific training combined with functional training.  Her experiences as an aide and volunteer in various physical therapy settings strengthened her knowledge of prehab, rehab and functional training.

She enjoys being outside, taking advantage of the diverse recreational activities available in Seattle.

Background

Kevan treats each client differently, recognizing that what works for one person may not work for another.  He believes that health and fitness goals can be reached through hard, smart training and a little bit of determination.  Since 2007 he has pushed clients past what they thought were their physical limits.  He believes in intense training programs that are rich in variety, challenging your muscles and cardiovascular system while focusing on the mind/body connection.  As a former amateur boxer, he often implements aspects of the sport into his training sessions, including focus mitt and heavy bag work.  He swears that everyone loves to throw a punch and relieve some stress.

Kevan is always active, with hiking, trail running and boxing at the top of his list.  He also enjoys playing the piano and listening to a wide range of music.  Currently he is working on becoming a master card magician, although he’s not quite there. . .yet.

Background

Reed started his training career in 2008, and since then has immersed himself in different avenues of fitness to gain a better perspective with working with clients.  He focuses on finding activities that clients will enjoy and unlock their potential as a fitness enthusiast.

Reed is a big proponent of corrective exercise, believing that all people are asymmetric by nature and in order to move forward with quality training, one must decrease their relevancy.  He has worked as a personal trainer and program administrator at the collegiate level, in both recreation and athletic departments.  Additionally, he was a strength & conditioning coach for the St. Louis Cardinals minor league baseball team.

Originally from Florida, with a few years studying in Lincoln, Nebraska, Reed is a recent Seattle transplant.  He is passionate about staying active and trying new things, which has led him to cycling, basketball and Olympic weightlifting.

Background

Semere has worked in the health and fitness industry since 2002 in a variety of settings.  His experience includes working as a personal trainer at a private fitness studio in Los Angeles; as an Athletic Engineer at Olympic Physical Therapy, specializing in post-rehabilitation exercises, core training and stabilization training; and as an exercise physiologist for a medically managed weight loss clinic for special populations.

He is passionate about fitness and designs individualized exercise programs that are fun, challenging and get results.  As a current nursing student and newlywed, his free time is limited, but he does enjoy playing basketball, running and spending time with family.

Background

Serena has been a personal trainer since 2010 and a fitness instructor since 2006.  Her love for fitness began when participating in her first yoga class, where she was trying to gain extra flexibility for her dance career.  She has been quoted as the:  bubbly trainer; the Jillian Michaels trainer; and the trainer who fibs by always asking for “just one more.”  Although her approach to each client is unique, she always brings a component of education, functional training, and, of course, fun, to each session.

Serena’s main goal as a trainer is to have you enjoy working with her.  She wants to take workout off your “to do” list and make it part of your daily life.  She likes to use elements of core strengthening and functional training in order to make your workout more efficient and useful—without spending hours at the gym.

She still loves to dance and has recently taken up the Argentine Tango.  She also enjoys flying trapeze and long hikes.
