Autumn Quarter 2017 Class Offerings


ABSolute Conditioning

Get a whole body workout with an emphasis on core training with crunches, planks, bridges and stability ball exercises. This class incorporates a balanced series of strengthening exercises for the major muscle groups using body weight and resistance bands.  Dynamax Medicine Balls are used mid-quarter to build power and speed with partner throwing exercises.  Classes have a conditioning component, ranging from simple exercises to increase the heart rate to jumping-based exercises like plyometrics.

Cardio Dance

This is an upbeat, high energy dance class that combines elements of cardio with dance. Although the choreography and music draw upon various influences, there is a “pop” emphasis. This class will improve your dance ability and provide for a great cardio workout. Come ready to sweat and get your groove on!

Cardio Kickboxing

This is a non-contact cardio kickboxing class utilizing basic kicks and punches. Designed as a total body workout, this class will make you sweat! Abdominal work and stretching are added to the end of the workout. The majority of the class is taught at a moderate to high impact level with low impact options; may not be suitable for those with joint issues.

Cardio Kickboxing (Skills & Drills)

This is a non-contact cardio kickboxing class utilizing basic kicks and punches through choreographed routines. Designed as a total body workout, each individual routine is set to a different song, working different muscles throughout each class. Each class contains a mix of easy, moderate and advanced moves with more complex routines broken down and repeated from week to week. While the majority of the class is taught at a moderate to high impact level, low impact modifications are offered for some routines.

Circuit Training

A mix of cardio and strength training. Perform various strength training exercises, then get ready to increase the heart rate with cardio! The perfect workout for those who want a balance between weights and cardio. Due to the intensity level of this class, it is not recommended to combine with HIT, Interval Training or Kettlebell Training.

Core Conditioning

Strengthen your core (abdominals and lower back) with this 30-minute workout that progresses throughout the quarter. Participants will begin with core exercises on the floor and advance to core exercises performed on stability balls. There is no aerobic component. This class was previously called “Ab Lab”.

High Intensity Training (HIT)

Welcome to a fast-paced, no fluff group exercise class! This is a high intensity training class utilizing a mix of group exercise and sport training moves that are loosely choreographed, similar to Shaun T’s Insanity Workout. HIT keeps exercises simple, athletic and repetitive, focusing on achieving a high intensity on each move. Due to the intensity level of this class, it is not recommended to combine with Circuit Training, Interval Training or Kettlebell Training. This class is geared for the Intermediate level group exercise participant: students must be able to properly execute squats, lunges, push-ups and plyometrics. This class is NOT recommended if you have any joint problems. Students who do not meet the criteria will be asked to switch to a different group exercise class.

Indoor Cycling

An intense stationary bike workout that simulates an actual outdoor bike ride. Through tension adjustments and pedaling technique, you will encounter straight-aways, steep hills and rolling terrains that correspond to the difficulty of the perceived ride. This class will make you sweat! Pedals are SPD compatible. Bring a water bottle and towel. All fitness levels welcome.

Mat Pilates

Learn the Pilates method, a total body conditioning workout requiring concentration and precision of movement. Designed to improve your muscle tone, strength, flexibility and posture, focus is place on muscular harmony and balance. Classes progress throughout the quarter.


OULA® is a high-energy, easy to learn, crazy-fun dance workout to Top 40 hits. Classes are 50 minutes of sweat, joy, and total inspiration! OULA® is Dancemania for the Soul.

Slam & Swing

This class focuses on improving muscular endurance and power through functional, whole body movement patterns.  Using a kettlebell allows for ballistic exercises, swinging movements and release moves.  Using a medicine ball allows for rotational movement and throwing exercises.  This class is geared for the Advanced Beginner level group ex participant:  Students must be able to throw and catch a weighted ball, whether it’s from a partner in the class or off a concrete wall.  Students should be familiar with pivoting off the back foot and rotating the hips.  This class is NOT recommended if you have any joint problems, specifically shoulder and knee, or lower back problems.


This step class will focus mainly on traditional step choreography.  New step patterns and choreography will be introduced as the quarter progresses. Optional power moves will be shown for those who desire an increased intensity.

Total Toning

This 50-minute class with strengthen and tone your muscles from head to toe. Classes will include a warm-up segment, muscle-specific exercises, abdominal work and stretching. Equipment used includes dumbbells, body bars and resistance bands. There is no aerobic component.


Suspension Training leverages gravity and your body weight to perform different exercises, delivering a fast, effective total body workout. Rip Training utilizes a lever bar and resistance cord, perfect for rotational movement. TRX will strengthen your core, improve mobility and stability, plus develop overall strength.


An aerobics workout with a Latin flair. Get a hot and fun-filled cardio workout while learning Latin dance basics like salsa, mambo and cha cha. This is a class for all levels with no dance experience necessary.

Zumba Strong

STRONG by Zumba™ is a high intensity interval training workout driven by the science of Synced Music Motivation. Unlike all other workouts, we don’t just create moves to a playlist. Instead, we craft and reverse engineer the songs to match every move, driving the intensity in a challenging progression that provides a total body workout. The result is a group fitness experience unlike any other. This class will push you past your limits to help you reach your fitness goals faster. Using your own body weight, you will gain muscular endurance, tone, and definition, and you will experience an increased afterburn.



Learn the beauty of this traditional form in a fun an inviting way. Class will begin at the barre and progress to center and across the floor work. Emphasis is on learning the vocabulary but also finding your own individual strengths as a mover. No experience necessary.

Belly Dance

In this dynamic class we’ll be covering the foundational movements of belly dance including hip and chest isolations, undulations, arm movement, basic turns, and shimmies.  Class will begin with a warm-up and a conditioning section, then progress through technique and finish with a easy-to-learn combination.  No experience necessary!

Hip Hop

A high energy street/funk class that teaches the most current styles of west coast hip hop. The class includes a thorough warm-up, strength elements, hip hop progressions, and a new routines taught each week. The music is fresh, the pace is fast, and the style is hot!


This class is designed to allow you to discover the eclectic and exciting blend of styles that makes up contemporary dance. Emphasis is on moving and learning specific technical skills that build a strong foundation for doing multiple kinds of movement safely. No experience necessary.


Longing for some partner dancing? This class is for you. This class will teach you the fundamentals of Salsa with an emphasis on learning enough so that you can go out on your own and dance. You do not need to have a partner to sign up. No experience necessary.
