More of Denny Hall

Pictorial History Previous Next
When the first building at the new campus site opened its doors, about 200 students began their studies.

Inside Denny Hall there were six laboratories, which were notorious for their fumes and vapors. The three for chemistry were equipped with hoods and ventilators, gas and running water. There was a special laboratory for quantitative analysis and two biological laboratories with facilities for 72 students, who might use microscopes, an Abbe camera, Naples water bath, microtome, an incubator and many other "modern" apparatus.
