| Here are just a few from the large selection of photographs of Denny Hall, which is probably the most photographed building on the campus. Built in 1895 by architect Charles W. Saunders, it was the original Administration Building at the new 600-acre campus. The rear portion was an assembly hall, classrooms and offices in 1910, when it was renamed Denny Hall. The interior was rebuilt in 1956 by Grainger, Thomas and Boar. (Dorpat, Vol. II) | |

The cornerstone from the old Territorial University was transferred to Denny Hall in 1894 with fitting ceremony, including speeches by Arthur Armstrong Denny and about 10 others. Denny said that it would "only be disturbed by some convulsion of nature". (Dorpat, Vol. I) Nothing of the sort has occurred and it remains in place to this day. |
