| May 1, 1928, Campus Day was the occasion for music, a dance in the evening, speeches, and a lunch served by ladies at tables set up in the Liberal Arts Quad. Some years trees were planted in Governor's Grove. Students and faculty seemed to enjoy themselves and absorbed "a large amount of University spirit." (Gates, p. 105) |

These students are working on the walkways in the Quad on Campus Day 1951. Campus Day as an annual event ended in 1934, and this may have been the last attempt to revive it. Work parties were organized to grade lawns, improve paths and trails, and build benches. Some groups repaired the tennis courts, built tees on the golf course, improved the amphitheater or made the gym ready for the evening's dance. (Gates, p. 104) |
