ADA Accessibility

The UW Tower is wheelchair-accessible via the lobby entrance located on the plaza, west of the lobby security desk.   Persons wishing to enter through the accessible entrance can do so by motioning to the lobby security officer who is able to remotely unlock the doors. Disability parking is available in the Tower garage, from which the building is accessible via the skybridge into the C-2 area of the building.

Accessible restrooms are located in the following locations:

  • T-22, T-17, T-7. T-1
  • C-4 near Auditorium
  • C-2 north, C-2 south
  • S-LL locker room

From the North

  • Merge onto I-5 S
  • Take exit 169 toward NE 45th St
  • Merge onto 5th Ave NE
  • Turn left at NE 45th St
  • Turn right at Brooklyn Ave NE

From the East

  • Merge onto WA-520 W
  • Take the Montlake Blvd exit
  • Merge onto Montlake Blvd E
  • Turn left at NE Pacific St
  • Turn right at Brooklyn Ave NE

From the South

  • Merge onto I-5 N
  • Take exit 169 toward NE 45th St
  • Merge onto 7th Ave NE
  • Turn right at NE 45th St
 

Parking

The UW Tower Properties includes over 700 parking spaces in two adjoining parking structures. For a visual guide to the parking garages, please see the garage floor-plan.

UW Parking Services manages and operates the garage as a campus parking lot and normal campus parking rates and policies apply.

Personal vehicles must have a UW Parking Permit or pay the standard rate.

Biking to the UW Tower

A locked bicycle cage is available in the Parking Garage for Tower occupants and accessible via the card access control system. During off hours, bicycles will be required to exit the garage via the pedestrian doorways.

Always Remember

  • Use a good solid lock for securing your bicycle.
  • Bicycles should be registered with the UW Police Department

Riding the Bus/Shuttle to the UW Tower

There are multiple metro bus routes operating throughout the day between the UW Tower and campus via NE 45th and either University Way or 15th Ave NE.

The Health Sciences Express shuttle provides regular service to UWMC Clinic at 4245 Roosevelt Way NE, approximately 2 blocks SW of the tower properties.

  • George Washington Statue: ~7 minutes
  • Gerberding Hall: ~7 minutes
  • Plant Services Office Building: ~12 minutes
