University Area Transportation Action Strategy

The City of Seattle has identified a number of transportation projects in the University area. For information on this project, see the University Area Transportation Action Strategy site.

Sound Transit University Link Light Rail

Sound Transit is constructing an extension of the light rail system north from downtown Seattle. The University of Washington Station south and west of Husky Stadium began construction in February 2009 with various preparatory activities. Major work begin in December 2009 and will last into 2016.
