Paper Cleanout Toters Request Form

Recycling & Solid Waste loans out mixed paper toters to staff who are doing large cleanouts of paper. Do not use bagits or your building's permanent mixed paper toters for a cleanout. Bagits are for the daily, small amounts of recyclable paper that staff generate and the building's permanent mixed paper toters are for Custodial Staff to use during regular servicing of the building.

Our standard loanout is two 96-gallon mixed paper toters, each of which holds approximately 10-12 boxes worth of material. The toters are green and are labeled "RESERVED" to distinguish them from the permanent mixed paper toters used by Custodial Staff for regular servicing of your building.
Our loanout is one week only. For example, if we deliver the toters on a Monday, they will be picked up the following Monday. Extensions to the one-week loanout are made on a case-by-case basis and should be requested at minimum 1-2 days prior to the scheduled pickup date by sending an email to Recycling & Solid Waste.
We allow up to 5 business days from the preferred delivery date for delivery of the toters, but are often able to deliver within 1-3 days of the preferred date. Sending your request 1-2 weeks in advance of your cleanout increases the possibility of receiving your toters on the preferred delivery date. Please do not send in requests more than 3-4 weeks in advance.
If you fill your toters during your one-week loanout and have more paper to recycle, our truck is able to service the toters on site at most campus buildings within 1 business day. To request service of the toters during your loanout, fill out the request form and choose "Service toters".
Please ensure that the toters remain at the delivery location and are not moved throughout the building.

What is acceptable?

All mixed paper, including white paper, newspaper, colored paper, sticky notes, magazines, softbound books and journals, file folders, hanging file folders, box board, small pieces of flattened cardboard. Staples and small paper clips are ok; please remove all large paper and binder clips. To recycle boxes and other large pieces of cardboard, see the procedures for cardboard boxes.

What is not acceptable?

Recycling & Solid Waste responds to all service requests within 2 business days. If you do not receive a response within that time, please resend your request.
