Moving Special Items/Costly Equipment

Moving Services strongly recommends that departments purchase insurance through the Risk Management Office whenever moving items of special value, costly equipment, or if replacing items damaged in a move would ‘break your budget’. Moving Services is not responsible for damages that occur during a move. The moving vendor is not required to replace, repair, or insure items moved, and will pay damage claims based on weight, not value.
