Basic Driver Training is required by all University of Washington faculty, staff and students that need to drive a Fleet Services vehicle. If you haven't already completed Basic Driver Training please click on the link below. Before renting a full-size van please complete the online Van Operator Training. In order to drive a 12-passenger van, all employees and students must now complete a hands-on training course. Please call the Fleet Rental Office at (206) 221 3202 for more details.

Online Training Courses

Basic Driver Training
Required for all authorized drivers prior to renting any Fleet Services vehicle.

Students trying to complete basic driver training may receive an error message "No Employee Identification (EID) found." If you see this message please contact the Fleet Services Rental Office at (206) 221 3594.

Basic Driver Training Verification

Van Operator Training
Required for driving all full-size vans: 12-passenger, cargo vans, and carryalls.

PLEASE NOTE: All employees and students planning to get behind the wheel of a UW Fleet Services 12 passenger drivers must take the new Hands-On, Van Driver Training Course that we're providing at no cost to you or your UW department. Upon completion, drivers will receive a Full Size Passenger Van Driver Certification that, along with a driver license valid in Washington State, will be required to drive any University full size passenger van. This is an important enhancement to Fleet Services' safety program that will provide drivers with the necessary certification and skills to drive these vans. Customers driving 7-passenger minivans, SUVs or cargo vans aren't required to complete this training. For more information please contact the Fleet Services Rental Office at (206) 221 3202.
