UWalk Campus Tours & Walking Fair!
Before or after a campus walking tour, all UWalk groups and members are invited to visit the Walking Fair in Red Square to learn about walking resources from Feet First and Commuter Services. Be sure to check out other transportation options from Zipcar and Seattle Pedicab; grab a sample from Honest Tea, Popchips, and Peaks Frozen Custard; and stop by the Aveda booth to let their experts show you how to look and feel your best!
Meet in Red Square on the Suzzallo Library steps
Join tour guide and art enthusiast Tamara Rivet for a moderate paced walking tour designed to introduce you to a sampling of the art around campus. In addition to the pieces housed at the Burke Museum and the Henry Art Gallery, the University of Washington is home to a rich collection of art around the campus itself. On this tour you will visit 4 to 7 pieces of art on the Seattle campus.
UW History Tour
Meet in front of Denny Hall
Much of the University’s history is reflected in its buildings. This tour, led by UW history buff Antoinette Wills, gives a brief overview of that history, concentrating on the central campus core, which reflects various stages of growth. The tour begins in front of Denny Hall, built in 1895, and includes Memorial Way, the Quad and Red Square. An optional tour down Rainier Vista will be available after the main tour.
Meet by the big “W” at the 17th and 45th Street campus entrance
Join fellow UWalk member and campus art enthusiast Lesley Reece on a tour of the outdoor art installations around upper campus.
Burke Museum Highlights
