Sharing the Ride: Carpooling and Vanpooling
Faculty, Staff and Student Commuters
Carpooling or vanpooling are great ways to take advantage of your U-PASS. Ride together and avoid paying $360 per quarter to park alone. Get access to high-occupancy-vehicle (HOV) lanes and on-ramps for a faster commute. Mix up your commute as needed: bus, bike, walk or drive alone on days when you cannot share the ride.
Carpools share the ride using a personal vehicle.
Vanpools are groups of 5 to 15 who live at least 3 miles away from the UW Seattle campus and share the commute in a van owned, maintained and insured by one of the transit agencies.
Visitors
Consider sharing a ride to that football or basketball game or concert. It’s easy to connect with riders and drivers through RideshareOnline.
