Recent Achievements

The following is a list of the management goals and unanticipated accomplishments we achieved during the last fiscal year.

System Deployment Objectives

Integrate SIMS, FME & CRIS Systems — July 2006

With CASPO & MAA validate room numbers in FME to sustain and defend cost recovery of maintenance expenses.

Move FS-DOS to New Host — August 2006

Remove FS-DOS from the FME server to reduce FME vulnerability and increase resources for FS-DOS.

Develop Server Redundancies — September 2006

Move production applications to specialized servers. Put backup copy of all applications on both servers for rapid recovery.

Pilot Standardization of FS Web Programming — December 2006

Maintenance & Alterations Technology Administrator to begin replacing legacy code with standardized code that presents a more compatible and accessible FS web presence.

Create Facility Services Email Lists — January 2007

Mailman email lists will be created in order to facilitate communication with all Facilities Services staff. This will include a gallery of badged employees, allow us to audit employee information and be first step to a common roster.

Enable FS‑WORKS Clickable Email Link to Responsible Party — February 2007

When following up on their requests in FS‑WORKS, customers can click a link to the responsible party (shop contact) for their job. Also, automatically direct replies to correct shop staff.

Redesign FS Toolbox — April 2007

In order to make the Technology Toolbox easier to use, navigate, and maintain it needs to be redesigned with the users and maintainability in mind. This will also bring the site inline with emerging FS web standards.

Integrate Confined Space Data in FME — May 2007

Eliminate the use of a stand alone database. With the data updated and maintained in FME will be able to display it on a dynamic Webpage, much like the Building Coordinators webpage. This will be a great service to our employees.

Feed Dynamic FME Data to Toolbox Web Pages — June 2007

Create Technology Toolbox web pages with standing work request and labor rate information produced from FME. Administrative staff will use web page information to create time cards.

Brand and Standardize FS Web Identity — June 2007

Redesign all FS organizational web pages from division through departmental levels. Convert most program pages to the new standard and set course for a clear FS web identity.

Process Engineering Initiatives

Coordinate Seismic Bracing Initiative — October 2006

Work with OEM, EHS and M&A to encourage seismic bracing thru booths at BizTech & October Campus Safety Fair.

Hire and Orient M&A Technology Manager — November 2006

Add web developer / system administrator position to serve M&A 75% and backup FS 25%. Achieved in record time with immediate performance results.

Create and Publish Disaster Recovery Work Order — April 2007

To help support emergency response, a printed hard copy work order blank can be used until computers become available. This is critical to dispatch, business resumption and subsequent cost recovery.
