Responds 24/7 to emergency maintenance service calls.
In an emergency, a Facilities Operations Maintenance Specialist (FOMS) responds to the emergency situation and takes whatever steps are necessary to alleviate or resolve the immediate problem. As needed or required, additional staff are called in to handle specific problems. Otherwise, the FOMS will write a work request to the appropriate shop to address the problem.
FOMS also maintain, test, repair, and inspect fire sprinkler and life-safety systems, and provide operational support for the other critical campus building and utility systems.
